A quick and easy stove-top potpourri recipe to make your home smell like spring!
One of the best things about the change in seasons, is embracing all of the new scents, tastes, textures, and colors. Every season is different, and each one has its own unique characteristics. I LOVE the change in seasons, and I am really thankful that I live in an area where each one stands out. Although winter usually likes to push its way into spring;) Embracing each season and enjoying all the tastes, smells, textures, and even ambiance can feel so rewarding. It can also really allow you to connect with nature! After a long and cold winter, its so nice that mother nature allows us to hit the refresh button in March and April.

In winter I shared a recipe for a stove-top potpourri recipe using cinnamon sticks, cloves, vanilla, pomegranate, and a few other ingredients. You can find it here! Be sure to pin it so that you can refer back to it, come winter next year. I loved to have it simmering on our stove all day, with wafts of fragrant smells drifting around our home. It felt so cozy and sweet. This recipe for spring stovetop potpourri will leave your home feeling fresh and clean. It would be a perfect recipe to have simmering while you are doing your spring cleaning. It will make your home feel that much more refreshed and it’ll be the perfect complement to all of your clean surfaces.
If you like to cook, you will most likely have all of the ingredients on hand already. Otherwise, they are VERY easy to pick up at the store. I was at the store the other day grabbing a few things for dinner when I saw these Mint and Rosemary plants in the produce section. I believe fresh is always best (although dried herbs will work) so I was excited to pick these up to use in my potpourri recipe.
Its one of my favorite compliments to get when someone comes into our home for them to say it smells good! I used to burn candles all of the time, but now I love trying more natural ways to fill our with good smells. My sister dropped by when I had this simmering the other day, and the first thing she said was “Wow, it smells so good in here!” With a few simple ingredients you can have an all natural, fragrance filled space as well! I hope you enjoy it as much as I have, scroll down to get the recipe:)
Spring Stove Top Potpourri
Ingredients:
-
two lemons, washed and sliced
-
handful of fresh rosemary
-
handful of fresh mint
-
1 Tbsp vanilla (optional)
Directions:
Combine all of the ingredients together in a pot, cover with water, and simmer on the stove while you are home. Add more water as needed (keep everything covered with water at all times). You can continue to simmer it for a few days before starting a new batch, just turn it off and on as needed. The vanilla will give it a sweeter scent if you choose to add it.
